I have created art my entire life, mostly custom pieces (portraits, old homes and barns, landscapes, still life, and even a few abstract). Lately I have begun searching through my own life and memories and painting what evokes feeling in me. I have always loved Alabama in October, there's football, campfires, and these beautiful fields of snow, or cotton, that begin to be harvested when the air gets cool. This crop is the livelihood of many local farmers. Every time a pass a cotton field I remember walking with my grandmother and she would tell me how they used to pick entire fields as sharecroppers, not leaving a speck in the field.
This is a 24x30 original oil on canvas.
